"I believe in a culture of life..."

I have seen many editorials, read many blogs, and heard many opinions in which people say "Shit, if San Diego (or Tulsa, or Birmingham) was invaded, I'd be fighting, too." Yeah, me too. Duh.

But aren't we actually fighting the foreign terror element who swooped into Iraq after the invasion? To make the real Iraqis safe and democratic? Um, no.

From the LA Times: Few Foreigners Among Insurgents:

Of the more than 1,000 men between the ages of 15 and 55 who were captured in intense fighting in the center of the insurgency over the last week, just 15 are confirmed foreign fighters, Gen. George W. Casey, the top U.S. ground commander in Iraq, said Monday.

Turns out Shock and Awe doesn't win Hearts and Minds.
